Setting the stage for the global debut of the never-before-seen 2010 Kia Forte Koup, Kia Motors America hosted more than 350 attendees on Thursday, April 9 at a design-focused press conference during the 2009 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). Top-tier journalists from outlets including USA Today, MSN Autos, Edmunds.com, Automobile Magazine, Road & Track, Ward’s Communications, Automotive News, Car&Driver and Motor Trend were in attendance as Michael Sprague and designers Tom Kearns, Mike Torpey and Kurt Kahl unveiled Kia Motors’ first-ever two-door coupe.
Along with the Forte Koup, the recently debuted Forte sedan and recently launched Soul urban passenger vehicle were on stage to represent and emphasize the heavy design focus Kia Motors has and will continue to put on its production vehicles moving forward, The cars also gave us a look into the design process for all-new production and concept vehicles in the future. In addition, an extremely in-depth article covering automotive design with a heavy emphasis on the Kia Motors America design team ran in USA Today(http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2009-04-07-auto-designers_N.htm) on the first media day of the auto show, a notable precursor to the Kia Motors press conference theme.
As information for with all-new Koup was kept under wraps until the morning of the press conference, eagerness for the vehicle’s unveiling escalating with the lead up to the show. To add to the anticipation of the global debut, Kia Motors hosted a reception for more than 300 media and guests the night prior to the press conference. Media and VIP attendees were given a partial look at the covered vehicle to be unveiled the following morning.

April 14th, 2009 at 10:42 amThanks, Himi… we think it’s looking pretty good, too! Our designs keep getting stronger and stronger, don’t you think?!
In 2012, the oldest Kia model will be the recently launched Kia Borrego (Mohave) in most markets. So, all will have the family look by then! From what I read on your blog (and others), most bloggers like this new look.

May 12th, 2009 at 11:46 amHow about a 360 watt Infinity system like in the Optima? Glowing speaker lamps in the Forte Koup, too? Navigation system availability (US) will determine if I purchase a Forte or Forte Koup.

May 18th, 2009 at 7:25 pmHi
Thanks for your opinion about adopting Infinity sound system in Forte Koup.
You will meet Forte Koup with the glowing speaker system.
And navigation system will be available in 2010. :) -

May 21st, 2009 at 3:04 amThe only things are missing is the smart key and the auto rotating lights in front of the car. With that you have a car that has almost the same features as the Mazda 3 2010 but is consumming less fuel and is less expensive ! :P
