As a major sponsor of the Australian Open in Melbourne, Kia Motors believes in fostering talent from a young age and holds amateur tennis tournaments in countries around the world as qualifying events for the Kia Amateur Australian Open in January each year. Today’s handover emphasizes the strong association between Kia Motors and Tennis Australia, and the commitment they both have towards developing future tennis champions.

The coaching clinics will be held in major centres around the country and run by Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) head tennis coach Brent Larkham, AIS Head women’s coach David Taylor and National Coaches Sandon Stolle (Sydney), Chris Mahony (Melbourne), David Hodge (Brisbane), Brod Dyke (Adelaide), Michael Robertson (Perth), Todd Larkham (Canberra) and Simon Youl (Tasmania).

During the ceremony, Tennis Australia’s CEO, Mr. Steve Wood, said, “Our national coaches travel widely, working with talented young players in all areas of metropolitan and regional Australia. This additional support from Kia will provide direct assistance in developing the champions of the future.”
