And the votes are in… November 19th, 2007

Well, the final tally is in and unfortunately the cee’d came up a bit short in the voting for the 2008 European Car of the Year (COTY) award – finishing just outside the podium in 4th place out of seven finalists. We’d like to offer a big round of applause to Fiat and its 500 model that has truly won the hearts of many Europeans and is a much deserved winner of this year’s competition.

We at Kia are elated that the cee’d was included in the shortlist of this year’s competition and even beat out some European stalwarts in the final vote. I think it’s safe to say that we have truly turned a corner in our “glocalization” strategy and I can’t think of any better evidence of this than seeing our products being embraced by European motoring media and consumers alike.

To everyone involved in the success of the cee’d – from designers and engineers to our dedicated staff at our Slovakia plant and sales staff all over Europe – you deserve a big round of applause as well!

Indeed it was a great success for the Cee’d to end up on 4th place! As far as i know it was the first Korean car to enter the final round.
Congratulations for KIA, keep up making the good cars, the future is bright!!

  • I think 4th place is not bad … Just think how many cars are behind ;) Our family has a KIA cee’d and we just love it :) Everytime we see some other cee’d on the street we start to smile and feel hapy, that we have such nice and pretty car too :)
    Congratulations from Lithuania
