Today, we’re taking a moment to acknowledge the creativity and innovation in car design, and what better way to do so than with Kia’s top 4 concept cars? Over the years, Kia has introduced concept cars that are experimental, fun, and sporty, but most of all—innovative. So we picked out the top 4 of Kia’s recent concept cars—the must-sees that have proved to the public and the automotive industry exactly what innovation is all about. When it comes to design, Kia is reaching new heights, and we are being recognized for our innovation. The GT4 Stinger and 2014 Kia Soul once again proved their car design prowess, especially after the Industrial Designers Society of America awarded Kia with a pair of prestigious design awards. The GT4 Stinger concept and the 2014 Kia Soul earned Silver and Bronze honors, respectively, in the transportation category of the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA).
Kia not only believes in the power of sports like this past World Cup, but also in the spirit of the arts that can bring people together. And to show our support and appreciation for the arts, we decided to give back to one of our fans in the best way we know, with our flagship sedan, the Kia K900, also known as the Kia Quoris in some markets. What better way to celebrate classical music than with the classy K900? We handed over the 2015 K900 to Mr. Zubin Mehta at his home in Los Angeles, California as a sign of appreciation for Mr. Mehta’s love for Kia.
Kia is getting its very own sound. Fittingly, the new Kia trademark sound is called, ‘The Rise of Surprise,’ showing Kia’s commitment to its brand slogan of ‘The Power to Surprise.’ Drivers will hear the trademark sound when they start and stop their vehicles, in addition to various warning alerts. The first vehicles to feature the Kia sound will be the Kia Soul EV, Kia’s first full-electric model for overseas markets, and the all-new Carnival MPV (known as the Sedona in some markets).
The Eat Your Kimchi team is a Korea-based YouTube/blogger duo made up of the quirky couple, Simon and Martina Stawski. Anyone who has searched for anything about K-pop or Korean culture on the internet has probably come across their blog or videos, which show the eccentric duo exploring Korea and the rest of the world. Kia has helped the couple expand their adventures by providing them with a customized Kia Soul two years ago, which is now their main mode of transportation during their adventures in Korea. The Kia Buzz team met up with Eat Your Kimchi in Seoul to find out more about these adventures in the Eatyourkimchi Mobile, also known as the Eatyourkimchi Soul (#EYKSoul)!
Android Auto made its debut at the Google I/O Conference last week, bringing us one step closer to Android being available to you wherever you go. We talked about connected cars and UVO technology just a couple weeks ago, and this represents yet another exciting new development in “smart cars.” The Kia Soul got a chance to take Android Auto for a test drive! (Video below) Android Auto will offer just what its name suggests: easy access to any Android app from the dashboard of your vehicle, so you no longer have to dangerously drive and check your phone at the same time. Just check it from the dash of your Kia.

Clean, green vehicles still sound like somewhat of an ideal. But this ideal has become a reality for Kia, as our very first all-electric vehicle, the Soul EV, has entered mass production for sales in Europe. The zero-emissions Soul EV will go on sale in select European countries later this year.

Born for Beijing
Specifically tailored for the Chinese market, the K4 concept car was finally unveiled in Beijing, at the 2014 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. What’s even more exciting is the news that the K4 concept car will come to life, as Kia plans production versions of the sedan to go on sale in the second half of this year, focused on targeting drivers with families.
