Central & South American press tour in San Francisco August 5th, 2010

Two weeks ago, Kia Motors Corporation and offices from Central and South America invited a group of journalists to San Francisco to enjoy the all-new Kia Sportage for a regional test drive. Since the SUV will become available in their markets later in the year, this was the first time many of the journalists were able to see the new Sportage in the flesh. From what they saw, they really liked!

San Francisco was the destination of choice because of its urban landscape, full of hills to test out the Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and Downhill Brake Control (DBC) systems. In addition to the city appeal, San Francisco is also very close to great mountains and windy roads perfect to test out the Sportage’s new Dynamax™ electronic 4WD system. All around, we thought this was a perfect destination to have journalists experience this new Kia for a day.

The event itself was fun and entertained our guests, while giving them quite a bit of time to enjoy the car. Journalists from across Central and South America, including some Caribbean Islands, were there and should be sharing their experiences with their viewers and readers within the next few weeks. Stay tuned for their comments in your local papers, magazines or TV screens.

Thank you (merci, obrigada and gracias) to our guests for taking the time to come to the event and for their work in helping people get to know our Sportage a little better. We’ve compiled a video clip (below) of the event we thought our blog readers might enjoy.

Nice video! I recently had a look at the new Sportage at my dealer and was very impressed with its design. It has lots of edge and character- probably the best looking small SUV available.

If I didn’t have my Koup I would buy the Sportage. Love my Koup too much though!
