Chicago Auto Show press conference February 18th, 2009

On Wednesday, February 11, Kia Motors America (KMA) hosted more than 400 attendees at its Chicago Blues-inspired press conference during the 2009 Chicago Auto Show (CAS). Top-tier journalists from outlets including the Chicago Sun-Times, MSN Autos, Edmunds.com, Ward’s Communications, Automotive News, Automobile Magazine, AutoPacific, Inc. and Oakland Press were in attendance as Tom Loveless, vice president, sales, and Tom Kearns, chief design officer, Kia Motors Design Center America, unveiled the all-new 2010 Kia Forte compact sedan. The highly anticipated Forte was met with applause as it debuted onstage to the lively blues-band sounds.
As information for the all-new compact sedan was kept under strict embargo until the morning of the press conference, anticipation for the vehicle’s unveiling escalated. While a number of other OEM’s had a limited presence or scaled back press conferences, the Kia Motors press conference proved to be one of the most eagerly awaited and successful of the show.
