Experience Kia! – 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa July 12th, 2010

As a part of Kia’s 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Marketing Activities, Experience Kia! was held last month in South Africa, where six renowned internet bloggers from six different countries were given the chance to test drive our all-new Sportage, and witness one of the most exciting matches of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

Even South Africa’s unfamiliar right-handed drive system could not stop our participants from test driving the all-new Sportage. For additional safety measures, we assigned a local assistant to each vehicle as a “human navigator” along with roadbooks & GPS for the 230 Km ride. All of the participants were busy taking pictures of both interior & exterior of the test vehicles, ceaselessly complimenting Kia’s latest advance in design.

After the test drive, participants were taken to the Soccer City Stadium, where the round of 16 matches between Argentina vs. Mexico was held. One of the participants Mr. Jorge Pandini, from Argentina, obviously was very excited about the match, and we all decided to root for the favored Argentina National Team. I took the honor of face painting of the Argentina flag, and South African Participant Mr. Casey Monteiro was assign to take care of the famous vuvuzela.

The result of the match was pleasing. We all celebrated the victory of the Argentina National Team 3-1, as they advanced to the quarter-final.

The next day was a relaxing day, as we took a trip to the famous Rhino and Lion Park for a Safari Tour. The stare from the wild dogs and the opportunity to pat the baby lions (still huge) were definitely not asked for, but overall it was a once-in-a-life time experience for all of us.
