Since the mid-2000s, we at Kia Motors have focused on design and technology to bring our customers quality vehicles. Kia has since brought to life an impressive line-up of vehicles featuring its own distinctive designs, and we have picked up numerous prestigious accolades for outstanding design along the way.

Since 2010, Kia has managed to accumulate approximately 40 major international design awards. From production vehicles and concept cars to digital applications, our ongoing dedication to design innovation has been continuously recognized worldwide. Prize-winning market models



First Generation Kia Soul marked the start of Kia’s winning streak


Kia began its winning streak in 2009, when the first generation CUV, Kia Soul, became the first Korean car to take home the Red Dot design award. Since then many of our models have been recognized including Kia Optima and Kia Sportage recognized by the Red Dot design for two consecutive generations, first in 2011 and most recently in 2016. The Europe-only Kia pro_cee’d (along with the 2011 Optima) received the highest distinction as Red Dot’s Best of the Best category and also scored a much coveted iF design award.

Concept Models



Kia KV7 concept show car (2011)


The unique and eye-catching concept car designs have also captured the attention of international audiences, having been awarded with distinctions for their brilliant designs. The Kia KV7 concept car introduced at the 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) was rewarded the International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) that same year while the Track’ster concept and the widely popular GT4 Stinger followed shortly after, taking the Bronze (2010) and Silver (2014) IDEA awards respectively.

 Online and Mobile Apps



Venga Virtual Test Drive Facebook application


Cars are not the only designs by Kia walking away with prestigious awards. Facebook application and mobile apps have also been acknowledged for their creativity and groundbreaking features. Starting with the Venga Virtual Test Drive Facebook application that won the 2011 iF award in communication design, Kia has also gone on to develop specialized iPad applications that have also emerged as prestigious prize-winners. In fact, four Kia iPad applications have received the distinction of Red Dot’s Best of the Best for communication design.
