Kia Korea Open produces another tennis star September 22nd, 2014
Kia is known for our love of sports, and this year alone we’ve sponsored the World Cup, the World Extreme Games, and most recently the Kia Korea Open, which is part of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tour. The 9-day international tournament, lasting from September 13-21, brought together 200 female tennis players from 33 countries. Big-name tennis stars like Maria Kirilenko of Russia and Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland competed on the court for the title of Kia Korea Open champion.

Karolina and Kristyna Pliskova:
It was a fierce battle, but in the end, Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic took home the title of Kia Korea Open singles champion and the cash prize. Congratulations on your win, Ms. Pliskova, and to Mona Barthel of Germany and Mandy Minella of Luxembourg on their doubles championship. Thanks to all the players for showing so much passion and determination over the past nine days.
In addition to this year’s winner, the 2014 Kia Korea Open produced another star—Varvara Lepchenko from the U.S., who upset defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska in the semi-finals to move onto the finals against Pliskova.
