One-on-One with “Rafa” February 9th, 2009

This year’s Australian Open tennis championship – the first of four Grand Slam events of the tennis calendar – proved to be a double whammy for Kia Motors as a new attendance record of 603,160 fans was set and, to top off 2 weeks of incredible tennis, Kia’s own Global Brand Ambassador and number one ranked men’s player, Rafael Nadal, won his first hard court Grand Slam event by outlasting one of the all-time tennis greats – Roger Federer – in the final.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to sit down with Rafa (as he is known by his beloved fan base) and chat about tennis in general, this year’s Australian Open, and his relationship with Kia Motors.

Have a look!

*Editor’s note: The 603,160 fans who attended the Australian Open 2009 represent the 2nd hightest record.  The highest record of fans attended during the event is 605,735 fans in 2008.  We apologize for this factual error.
