Kia Motors Deutschland
The love of football transcends continents, countries, nationalities and cultures for countless fans. With this in mind, Kia Motors Deutschland (Germany) kicked off the Road to South Africa tour with a convoy of four all-new Kia Sorentos. The tour will make a 24,000-kilometre journey from Germany to Morocco, Namibia, across Zambia and Botswana before arriving for the opening match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ tournament on June 11, 2010.
The convoy will cross some of the most extreme driving terrains in two continents and 17 countries. This photo was taken at the opening of the Serengeti Park in Hanover, Germany earlier this month.
In the clip below, German actor Jan Hartmann, a Sorento driver himself, says a few words about the trek. Jan will be joining the rest of the convoy during a visit to a children’s AIDS organization in Ghana for one lap of the Road to South Africa tour as a Kia ambassador.
“Football on our minds – Africa in our hearts” is the motto of the tour while the team supports humanitarian projects in Africa, backing various institutions supported by the German children’s charity BILD hilft e.V. “Ein Herz für Kinder.”
