Venga’s Design Story-Interior May 11th, 2010
By Kia Design Center
Designing the interior
We considered and reviewed a wide range of possibilities to come up with an interior that is modern and trendy, yet practical. The objective was to create a car that fits the European lifestyle.
Centralized audio dials and the dual dial HVAC unit catches the eye with their unique shape and layout. These features move away from the usual horizontal arrangement to add a distinctive touch, both from the visual and utility standpoints.
The center fascia exudes a high-tech image with its ergonomic layout and sporty lighting, while the 3D cluster enhances visibility with easy-to-see graphics and simple print. The designers paid careful attention to detail to maximize customer satisfaction. The efforts paid off and Venga received positive reviews in overseas consumer surveys.
Venga also offers a spacious cabin. To deliver practicality and convenience expected from an MPV, Venga has a door cup-holder that can hold a one-liter water bottle and floor console storage compartment. Although Venga is a B segment model, the rear seats can be folded to provide luggage space comparable to C-segment vehicles.
Boasting a sporty flair, versatility and efficient use of space, Venga is the outcome of Kia’s consumer-oriented design solution. Much effort went into the project, but it was a satisfying process. We look forward to sharing our passion for the car with consumers.
